Click click boom or boom click click

To all the pump players out there, just an informal survey, do you pump after you shoot or shoot after you pump. Basically, do you run around with one in the chamber hoping it doesn't roll out or do you pump as you come on target.

Personally, I always pump as I am coming on target. I know there is a ball in the barrel and something about the motion of cycling the marker puts me on target. I would even argue I am just as fast as if I didn't have to pump.

I primarily shoot a sniper, please indicate your marker of choice as well.

Just curious what others play styles are?

The preferred nomenclature is "click clack bloop."

That said, I tend to run around with an empty chamber, and then click clack as soon as I get to cover. Aim, bloop, get behind cover, and click clack. I've found this has worked best for my Redux, since the pumping/cambering process is a bit more tedious than other guns I've used.

Ha, I generally reserve click click bloop for Sheridans

Always keep one chambered, which usually means it's on the ground 12 feet behind me when I aim and fire

Always Always ALWAYS boom click click. There are ways of getting around rollouts, doesn't matter if your gun is fixed barrel or not. I'm not going to miss a potential kill because I haven't pumped yet.

I plan for boom click clack but often find myself click clack booming subconsciously on the field

Depends how big the paint is that day. If the paint is big enough to stay in the barrel then I will keep one chambered. If the paint is too small, I wait until I have a shot before pumping.

Before making this thread, I actually didn't know the answer for sure for myself. I actually had to pick up the marker and run around the backyard shooting to realize I was a click click boomer.

The subconscious is strong, I don't think I could chose to do it a different way on game day

I haven't played pump since 2003, but I always pumped immediately after firing. Whether it's a firearm or a paintball marker, lugging around one without one in the tube does the user little good. If rollouts are the concern, there are ways to adequately address that.

i switch it up quite a bit. 90% depends on wether i have anti roll out measures in place. if so, and if woods ball, i'll keep a ball in there. if no prevention, i wait till i have a target and pump a little to just before. if tourney, i wait to pump. but agin, IF i have prevention in place and i remember, i will try and keep one ready to go.

Thinking about it I realized I don't think about it when I'm at the field.
I think I usually keep a ball ready to fire when I hit the field....but I've always been a stickler for paint matching (I used to shoot cockers a lot so I was well used to keeping a ball at the ready)

what are some of the anti roll out methods for fixed barrel guns ( my apex elite is fixed barrel) ?

One or two blobs of nail polish in the bore.

I mostly keep one chambered. Since running with detent fingers in all my old school barrels now, I have no issues with click clack pop (??!?!?) Click clack bloop anymore.
