    JT... An initialism or what?

    Do the letters mean anything?

The original pharmacist owners sold high quality socks out of the trunk of there car to offset racing costs. The owners wife came up with the name by inverting the name of the town they were made in (Tijuana Mexico or “TJ” for short). So she inverted the letters and formed JT racing and it blew up from there.

Also the initials of the “Dick in a Box Guy”

When they were making motocross gear - starting out with just socks - it was all made in Mexican factories.

"The new company needed a name when a business license became necessary, and one was conjured hastily while in line at the county office. John offered ‘TJ’, or Tijuana, where the socks originated. But Rita swapped the letters due to TJ’s seedy reputation. At that moment, JT Racing Imports was born."

I'm sure at least one of the socks ended up with a teenaged boy, where it was repeatedly filled with mayo.

A related How nice a guy John Gregory is, I grew up as BMX and MXer in the 70’s to mid 80’s.
when I discovered paintball, I was already familiar with JT, having used the products for years.

20 some years ago, Completing at Skyball, I ended up in elevator going down to the field with Mr. Gregory, I thanked him for supporting the sport and making great products.
I then told him, how I was a huge Bob “Hurricane” Hannah fan, and that I had seen him compete a few times but was never able to snag autograph or even meet him.
Hannah was a notorious sour puss if he didn’t win, and MX was pretty open back then as far as meeting the racers in the pits.

He told me to get my name and address on something all I had was like scrap of paper, and he would take care of the rest, Hannah was racing airplanes at this point and they were still good friends and still in sponsorship with JT.

Now six months went by and I get a small envelope from JT, with a autographed picture of Hannah and his racing plane.
I was just so impressed that this man actually followed through, and took care of some random fan of JT and MX at a paintball field in Canada.

Interesting tidbit about John and airplanes: after retiring to Idaho, he was involved in a small plane crash. Thankfully survived.

Thanks. I had wondered about that occasionally off and on over the years, but never put forth the effort to find out.

Now, if someone could please tell me what CZR is supposed to mean in relation to the Dye Rize CZR, and for that matter, what DSR means, that'd be great.
