Just a heads-up for the community:
Something has been off with QC at Nelson lately. While Precision has been consistent and decent as always, over the last maybe 4-5 months or so there have been some bad production runs of Nelson Ranger (thicker-shelled Anarchy for woodsball and magfed). My home field has now gotten three consecutive shipments of Ranger that have had significant quality control issues. The paint is visably out-of-round. Normally, the field sells Ranger as the higher tier paint option, but these recent batches have been relegated to just handing it out with rental packages. To his credit, the owner has been warning regular players away from the Ranger and having us buy the cheaper Precision. In fact, I'm pretty sure lately he hasn't even been offering it for sale, just including it with the rentals. As of last weekend, his stated intention was to stop ordering Ranger altogether. Nelson has been informed of every poor batch received. I know that Ranger is a specialty product, one that might have been made only for our field (it was ordered by the skid), so this may not impact anyone else. But I wanted to make everyone aware of it in case these QC issues start appearing in Anarchy or another product.
And again, we have not seen the same problems with Precision, the field grade paint. It has been the same. When made to spec, Ranger was slightly more spherical than Precision (which tends to be ever so slightly oblate), but Precision is still of decent quality for a tier 1 paint.
