I imagine the top profile will need to be more flat with the double barrel setup. But I like the beveled edges especially at the front and the U shape. If you can texture it a bit like CCM dose I really like that profile and feel.

    Would this work for you?

-Only the two "grip pads" are textured, but I have no trouble with it slipping, even with those slightly-oily black-nitrile shop gloves.

It's not precisely the same as the CCM, but then, I don't have CCM's CNCs.

Duckie, I sent you an email with the details, earlier. If that works for you, I should be able to have this puppy wingin' it's way off by Monday afternoon.

Since I am hoping my midblock monstrosity is up next... for reference I think I'd like to go with the "smooth finger groove" pump from post #152. Should pair really nicely with the Niche frame I have for this build.

Oh Niche frame is a good call you need something beefy on it. I have a Dye UL frame but I don’t think it’s going to look good on it it’s to sleek and thin. The Niche is a thick boy I
actually really like that frame choice. What reg you thinking? Im leaning toward the AKA 2L. I have a CCM TrashCan but I’m not sure how it will perform at higher pressures.

Dye UL was my original choice but the Niche was gloss black and will fit better since I was able to source all gloss black parts to match. The reg is an Inception so I can turn up the pressure. UL is now going on a black magic that will be my "back up" for this beast! I absolutely love that frame but I did end up thinking it would fit better on a "light" gun

          Ducks: On it's way!

Shot-in-the-head: Can do, and I have most of the parts made already. Just to double-check what I have written down- you only wanted the pump? Or did you want a semi front block to go with it?

Correct, pump only. I figure its already unfair having two barrels... adding semi to it? Well that's just too easy.

          An interesting little update.

I'd originally set out to make eight of these, including the four "blank" bodies I'd had from several years ago. I thought I'd sold seven, and could keep the eighth for myself, but I screwed up- what else is new? - and managed to sell all eight.

I of course want one for myself, and have at least two high-probables for the next batch, so several weeks ago, I bought more material.

I was not, however, looking forward to the rather considerable amount of time and labor to rough these down into "blanks". Over the weekend, I had a bit of a brainstorm- one of those "no duh!" type moments, and after I got everything off into the mail today, I figured I'd take a moment and give it a try.

Basically, pick a thin slitting saw out of my collection, dig out an arbor that would clear the top of the vise, and saw "pie wedges" out of the block:

Took maybe about 30 minutes, but the old way with the 90-degree endmill probably took two hours, maybe closer to three. And, those two bars would have ended up as loose chips, so there's also the saved time having a lot less to sweep and vacuum up.

Not a huge time savings in the course of doing the overall body, but still certainly worthwhile.

is there anything useful to be made from the pie removed sections? Do I see enough material in there for aluminum cocker bolts?

There's all sorts of things one can do with the spare metal. Though the shape is a bit wonky, and thankfully, even as expensive as aluminum is these days, it's still fairly cheap compared with the time you'd spend trying to shape it.

In this case, anyway, the main savings is in time, and at the scrap yard, solid aluminum is worth a bit more per pound than chips and swarf.

It's also worth noting I have heaps of scrap and offcut aluminum, and I'm always rooting through the pile to find a piece that's close to what I need, rather than bandsawing a fresh chunk off a big bar, or something.

            Doc.

Words cannot describe how excited I am to build this thing! Thank you Doc for making this happen!

Can you throw it together with a frame and barrels and just take a pic of it assembled? I gotta see how the pump looks under the barrels and with a frame mounted! Getting really excited to see the sneak peak of mine once he starts on it. 😎

Thanks Woofs! I was getting worried there, for a bit. I assume you were off, like, being knighted or at least on a date with Keira Knightly, and not, say, getting audited or having a thumb reattached or something.

Might have a moment to drop it off Saturday, but chances are it'll be Tuesday at this point.

And as I said a few pages back- if there's any issues, like something doesn't fit quite right, or I managed to forget something (yes, even I make mistakes ) let me know and I'll do what I can to fix it.
