I care. A full, NIB, decent first-timer setup with HPA for ~$190 seems awesome for getting people into the sport. It's an interesting gun at that price point in that it doesn't have air fittings for the user to futz with and create issues. And if those are standard barrel threads, this is something an experienced player can use for rec play; a usable gun that probably cost less than the barrels that we'd put on it.

This gun not sucking is predicated on a) the quality of the plastic b) tolerencing and availability of high wear parts c) that the valve doesn't self destruct when trying to disassemble.

Personally, I'd rather go for a Spyder Victor with gravity hopper, 48/3000, whatever the cheapest decent mask is, and maybe a basic pack.

Well its probably not a huge surprise, but I bought one of these things. Oddly it was posted on ebay as "used" but it was clearly in brand new shape never used. Person selling it seemed to have no idea about what it was really. Par for the course for ebay I suppose.




As expected, this is essentially a continuation of the Brass Eagle Aegis line of blowbacks that's been in production relatively untouched since 2001. Sure its now hoseless but the hammer, bolt, springs, guides, are all comparable that came on the first versions of the Avenger and Triton from way back when. Now the bolt has lost 2 out of 3 sealing orings, it just has one behind the valve hole. Also they've ditched the plastic arm Brass Eagle style detent in favor of just throwing a standard Tippmann 98 detent inside, first time I've seen some Tippy influence on at JT/Brass Eagle gun. The barrel threads remain Spyder and the barrel no longer threads into a plastic housing like the previous JT Outkast, but a metal collar in the composite body. The lowrise feedneck is nice but I don't reccomend putting strong force feed hoppers on this gun, as when I did I noticed several double feeds. An agitator like a revy, ricochet, Tippmann SSL-200, or Halo TSA work great. FPS was a little low on HPA but it shot reliable field speeds on CO2. I swapped to a .685 CP one piece and the gun felt much better. Like all stacked tubes, field stripping is a breeze. For a sub-$100 paintball gun, hey you could do worse.

routed steel hard line from the asa through the body to the valve similar to like a Cronus.

Stock barrel is plastic.

On the oppisite side, there are screws that hold the grips on. One side has holes, the other side is self tapping posts, the grips slide off as one unit.
