I saw a rig at the '87 Best of New England tourney. A Nelspot, the pump and the stock were made from Uni-Strut, with a 14" barrel extension, run on a braided steel remote line, to a 15# steel t
Thermo-valve bottle on a backpack frame. The gun pumped really smooth, and shot well, but had to weigh 15 pounds.

I once used hose clamps to attach the top half of a Nelspot to a long Spyder barrel so I could use the Nelspot like an under-barrel grenade launcher. I drilled the frame & ran a bit of coat hanger wire through it at the appropriate location to make it auto-trigger. The air supply went to a T on the Spyder's vertical ASA, which was also connected to the bottomline. I had a 12oz CO2 on the bottomline, & a 4oz at the vert. ASA, but neither had an on/off so I had to get them both screwed in part way, then try to screw them both in really fast to avoid dumping too much CO2 or cutting the o-rings. I'll see if I still have pics...

any time I see someone putting a remote line on a gun without a stock (like a spyder, tippmann or even a cocker) I cringe. Have fun just holding that gun steady for minutes on end with nothing but your arms to hold the weight up.

That was me. The weight of the hopper never bothered me much; I liked getting the tank weight off my upper body and then the gun felt more nimble. What I did not like was the restricted mobility from having the gun tethered to my lower back. It makes offhand practically impossible, and then there's the hassle of setting your gun down during breaks

My first marker was a spider knock-off I bought at Canadian Tire. Only shot ~230 fps IIRC. Where I was working at the time they had a winding machine and an oven so I used their spring rate calculator and made my own springs. Got it up to about 265 fps. The next spring up the friction on the sear overpowered the solenoid and jammed it up. Thing shot real hard for not reaching field speeds! I bought it for $80 with a Revy (blisterpack); sold the revy and the marker ~1 year later for $30 each, so basically it cost me $20 for the year of use.

Next up of my own creations would be at the end of a Canadian Carnage scenario game. Final battle comes and I have a bunch of paint left. My Ego 7 was setup like you'd expect of a speedball gun, complete with the speed feed. The stupid part was standing at the back(ish) of the final battle, gun up in one hand, paintball caddie up and stuck through the rotor's speed feed, providing cover fire for whoever asked. Just non-stop ramping at 15 bps (max bps in the scenario rules) angled up to get max (but unusable) range. Was kinda hilarious though.

I just found a 68 carbine that has been sitting in a storage unit for 23 years uncocked it looks amazing. I don't think it was used more than 2 times I just got a rebuild kit last week I have it working 100% with no leaks & am looking for a vertical ASA adapter dose anybody have any I dont care if its a rusty POS ill fit it up ?

I have 2 carbines and was thinking of unloading one but sadly it doesnt have the vertical asa, the other one does.

Worst marker I have is this Spyder Fenix (original). Bought it because it came with a Assault Front Block and a CCI reg, thought maybe there would be more inside. Nope, just a regular valve.
I can't get this thing to work consistently, tried different valves, springs, blocks. It'll shoot great, I'll put it down, it won't cycle and roll balls out. I figured it was from the ACS bolt, so I modified that to stop being an ACS bolt, and same behaviors... ugh. Frustrating seeing how every other Spyder marker I have works fine, even the ones I tinkered too far lol.

I started playing shortly before the Tippmann 98 came out. I'd see the odd Spyder or Pro Carbine with an obscene barrel, but, it seems that after the 98 came out, the junkiest parts of the aftermarket were illuminated like roaches and attracted to that thing like flies to shit. I did get to witness a VM-68 with dual 20 oz. tanks, 20" barrel, red dot, L-stock, and I think a VL-300. The guy hardly shot a hopper full the whole day, so I'm not sure of the point of 40 oz. of CO2.

An Automag running off CO2

Was reffing a game and talking to the group of attackers on a castle prior to whistle and asking them where they were headed. Kid with an automag running on co2 said he was heading up the hill the shoot down into the castle. I tried my best to discourage him from doing it but guess where he heads off running on the break? After the initial rush calmed down I headed up the hill to check on him. There was just paint dripping out the end of his barrel and 4 foot cone of paint all over the ground in front of him. I did my best to help him clean up the gun and get it working again so what does he do? Lies back down and tries to shoot downhill again dumping all the liquid into an automag. I walked away.

Without a siphon tank and an expansion chamber, that's a lost cause. Even a vertical tank can be a challenge.
