An old timer at my field told me that even if my 3.5oz exploded or the reg popped off, there would only be enough force to injured, not kill, and "that was the owner cares about anyway"
Not sure how true it was, but he had a killer push broom moustache, so i took him at his word.

In all of my years, only a few haven't checked and marked the tank during the first fill of the day/event. Again, never heard of an accident in paintball or industry with tanks of this scale. I still think everyone should be playing by the rules, though - get them tested.
Somewhat ironically, the most issues I've seen with tanks are due to players or hydrotesting stations messing them up removing/installing the regulator to perform hydrotesting; probably a dozen with stripped out threads due to thread locker and excessive force.

Only the staff at scenario big games are checking tanks IME.

If you're worried about it, get it tested. I've never heard of one of these going bad without obvious damage; in paintball or industrial applications.
