Hose sizes?

There are tons of different kinds of barbs multi barb single barb. I have ordered some from MMC and when they came in the barb section was like 1/2" long. They are really all over the place. What I have found is the OG ones were very similar to clippard CT-2 fittings. those are sharp single barb fittings for 1/16 id 1/8 od polyurethane tubing. As for threads I have seen 6-40, 10-32, and some selonoids are M3-.5. The 10-32 and M3 can be found in most pneumatic supplier catalogs such as Clippard Pneumadyne and Bimba but 6-40 is nearly impossible to find as a standard part from any manufacturer.

Barbs can vary in diameter and length, and there are at least 3 thread specs that I know of - 3-56, 6-40, and 10-32.

They all accept 1/16" ID hose, but some are harder to get the hose on than others.

That's what I needed. 'Autococker hose' is getting expensive for something mostly sold in foot-long pieces. '1/16" ID pneumatic tubing' is cheap and you can get by the spool.

I bought 100' off of Amazon a while back for a project and it's worked well... next time I'll buy it from Maggot, though, his stuff is a little more flexible and still cheaper, I just didn't want to wait the few weeks it would take to get to me from the States.


Just keep an eye on the working pressure, not all hose is created equally.

Well, that's my problem. Yes, it depends on the barbs, but the barbs are intentionally large to stretch the hose and form a seal. I just don't know how much.
I've got some scraps of hose, I'm trying to see if any of those have printing on them for reference. :P

I also have some spring wire in the garage. I'll nab some of my mom's beading pliers and fab up a detent.

What size is Autococker LP hosing?
It's getting harder and more expensive to find it specifically for that, and so far I haven't seen the ID size listed, but pneumatic hosing under its original spec is easy enough.
