    LTL & Paintball

I've been seeing this kind of jazz on ebay lately. Is it just me or does it seem like we're one Karen away from some bad press? Isn't this still illegal in European countries?

The less-than-lethal crowd has sort of exposed a new armpit of the internet on FB too. Plenty of popular PB retailers bit the bait on Covid demand for this product category too.

I love firearms btw. And I have no issue with umarex pistols shooting .43 cal paint at the local field. Seeing these 'kits' like the 'Slugmaker .688" just irk me I guess.

.68 cal rubber balls (also rubber/metal and irritant filled balls) have been part of the non-lethal defense industry for decades. You can get 'em on eBay, Amazon, and any number of defense web stores. Riot police use them. Those suckers can be real nasty. But it's all seen as non-lethal defense kit, and perfectly legal to use in home/self defense as a civilian.

These are self defense "riot" balls:

These are pepper (irritant) .68 cal balls also often times used by riot police:

I've got a case of year-old winter paint sitting around. I figure that will work just as well without actually breaking bones or seriously messing up someones face (or worse.)

I'd rather see police use .68 cal non-lethal than real "less-lethal" rubber pullets /pellets fired from real firearms. Both are dangerous obviously, but rubber bullets are often times lethal and/or highly destructive. For home defense, if someone breaks into your home, then all bets are off. I'm not using .68 cal compressed-air based non-lethal if my family or my own life's in danger. Warning shots (in a safe direction) are the best form of non-lethal measures when it comes to home-defense. But that all depends on the threat.

I'm sorry but if you think 50cal paint/pepper/rubber ball is going to be a deterrent you are going to be very surprised and the real truth is by the time you realize your mistake you are already in a situation where it's going to get worse very quickly

Now granted it was paint but I've watched people shoot THEMSELVES with 50cal and that was a full size marker and barrel, best case scenario you are getting that same velocity out of a pistol.

A can of pepper spray is a better idea
