glad you got it shooting. maybe some debris made its way through to the tester.

Well, my rotor is set to flush. Shot the same crappy paint through the .679 insert and shot great with no breaks, just occasional skipped shots at high ROF. Unfortunately, the pressure tester still seems to be out but was able to get it to a relatively consistent ~280fps. Not sure what the pressure is exactly but I'm just gonna leave it for now lol.

ChillswitchEngage I pulled out both of my Rotors and the tension adjustment on both of them are flush with the body. According to the manual flush is default from Dye. Clockwise increases tension, counter-clockwise decreases tension and you should not adjust more then 2 full turns either in or out from flush.

Wanted to give a shout out to Nova, I forgot who spoke with but one of the techs (owner?) Said they would be happy to stay on the phone with me sometime to try and get everything set as it should. Hoping I can somehow get the pressure tester working today.

I believe they are out of the .688 inserts that they were shipping the n-1 with. Reach out to them and they should be able to get you sorted.
Unless you are having issues with the barrel you should be fine with the 50's..

A few things... i want an insert set for my n1. But if I try to order the whole kit its out of stock. Yet I think each individual insert is in stock so I could essentially order each one individually and get the whole set. That or, Ill just order a few inserts. Any chance anyone knows the status of whole kits?

On the note of the D swinging contest, I want to get a spare barrel ( just the moving part.) And a shroud for my n1.

My vision is polish rings into the barrel so they show in the shroud holes when the trigger is pulled, but it looks black when the barrel is forward. But I dont wanna wreck my barrel trying this idea.

Lastly, I have 50 duro o rings on my barrel. Should I reach out to tj for replacements?

Superman like I said, I'm pulling the trigger while the pressure tester is screwed in. I messaged them about buying a replacement. Not quite sure how I could have possibly ruined it but I'm willing to own up and pay for my mistake if I'm doing something wrong. But I was following the Chrono video. Large screw all the way in and small one backed out near flush. Screw out large screw until at 200psi. Lock in and screw in the small one to lower the pressure. At some point doing this around 170pai the guage stopped registering at all despite making the same puff shooting sound as before. I'm going to see if it still fully cycles when I get home. Since I haven't touched the dwell at all I figure if I can Chrono it again to 280 with just the pressure screws, it should be around 160 again.

Learned the lesson superman is giving the hard way. Thought I had a dud gauge, and ruined it while removing it to replace it with another micro-gauge. Oh well.

Are you pulling the trigger when the tester is installed? that is the only way to read the pressure.
I highly recommend having an entire set of inserts.

you are following this procedure right?

Honestly have never adjusted my tension on either of my Rotors. I will pull it out later and see where it is set. Never have had any issues so never felt the need to mess with it.

If y'all are having good experiences I think I might get another two inserts to size paint better.

Grendel, what is your rotors tension screw set at? Mine was set to be flush.

Superman, I tried to adjust the reg again but same deal, only the outer screw seems to do anything. It only goes to the PSI when you pull the trigger, that is normal right? I tried "shooting" a few times once I adjusted the inner screw but it did not go down.

edit - welp, my pressure tester no longer seems to register any input at all :/

About a case and a half through mine without any chops and that was with pretty horrible shaped paint on the 2nd case on my N3 in one Saturday. Only time I got any skips was when my Rotor was acting up. Ended up field stripping it while in a fire fight sitting in a ditch. I think some grit got in the gear train and bound it up. Once that was back together I did not have any issues that I noted. The N3 for sure I would not under bore or over bore by much. the barrel has to be able to close the breach on firing and if the next ball is sitting too low in the breach (over bored too much) it could chop and if your ball does not fully settle into the breach where the barrel insert can slide over the ball it can easily chop the ball in the breach. Again I have not had a problem yet so just guessing.

TJ was very specific when he set up mine to head to the chrono that you really should only need to adjust the dwell adjustment out the back of the marker for adjusting speed at the chrono. The only time you should need to adjust the Regulator is after a reg rebuild otherwise try to leave it alone.

Degas the marker, make sure to shoot it to clear all the air. remove the outer adjuster. ensure that the small set screw is passed flush. assemble and set the reg to 200 with the outer screw then adjust down with the inner screw. you will likely have to shoot while adjusting down as it does not purge the air on the way down.

are you inserts fitting snug inside the barrel. If they are not then i have had them move back and block the breach. Also make sure you lube the barrel orings. They are important to ensure the barrel operates properly.

superman, I experienced the chopping issues with so far with just the rotor, filled full. Tension is with the screw flush. Ill try turning it down alil more and try again tomorrow. I tried an ir2 briefly for a hopper full as well, but it seemed to not be able to keep up at the higher speeds. Much more skipped shots with it.

Another odd thing ive noticed was when resetting and checking the pressure, only the outside screw did anything. The inside fine tuning/velocity one, even completely all the way in, did nothing to get it down from the initial 200psi. So its set to 160psi with just the larger screw.

The night I played with the n3, I had zero chops, but I was running a Prophecy Z2 and pretty well matched insert.

The n1 seems to chop a bit more for me, but that was also a poor insert match.

Edit to add: that's including some very high ROF strings like the following https://youtube.com/shorts/xrkck_xfjJA?feature=share
