Dang I was thinking about getting the n3 but I think the n2 will be a go to if the price is right. Easy on paint will compete with most things out there but it almost sounds like the lvl 10 automag levels of soft…

Aluminum grips should allow for some great customization, that’s one of my issues with Emeks is once you choose a metal body that’s about it for aesthetic customization. Being able to get the lower and grips anodized could be a nice touch. I wonder how it shoots.

It is. I'm wondering if these will ultimately be different enough to not confuse future buyers or cannibalize their own sales. Obviously the N2 would be, but just looking offhand at the 1,3 & 4 I don't immediately see an appreciable difference to even know what I'm looking for or what I want. I can say I want to buy one (and I actually do), but which one? I'm playing the "wait & see" game due to the large number of paintguns they're cranking out in this short period of time.

Or perhaps they're not concerned with that? I'm not sure what sort of sales targets they're trying to hit. And I think Magmoormaster is correct in that there's some sort of boutique context in play here.

Just wish their naming convention was a little clearer N1 = redo of original but updated N2 = new high end version, N3 = medium level?! N4 = entry level.

I believe there are 9 employees ish. Small company doing big things.

N1 ball sits in barrel, most classic feeling. moving barrel. Option for terair or however it is spelled.

N2 more modern style marker. Think modern space mech. Cocker threaded non moving barrel

N3 ball sits in breach until trigger is pulled. Then moves over the ball and fires it. Mix of classic and modern.

N4 think budget composite or nylon style frame. Emek ish is not cocker threaded. Proprietary barrel. Not threaded.

No the N3 has a moving barrel. N4 has a removable push button barrel.
I do believe the bolt systems are different.
N2 i believe is the only cocker threaded but will be a high end mech.

Did anyone catch what the price was going to be on the N2? I briefly talked to the guy at the booth at Fulda. I got to hold and dry fire the N3, which was really cool. It's significantly louder than the N1, but very light and compact and it shoots really fast.

When the N2 came up he was kind of addressing a group of us and I thought I heard him say something like "16". Is the N2 really going to cost as much as an LV2?

Just my 2 cents, but I'm not really counting on any pricing promises until the sales page goes up. In the early parts of the thread we were talking about the N1 being $350 or less, and only the Black and Silver options came in at $399, with all other colors being $429 or more.

This is no shade on Nova, pricing is hard, just an observation I had.

Not to mention that this forum probably accounts for a majority of the target market, so if you get excited at an estimated $350 and they catch wind of it - I fully expect them to increase the actual sale price. It'd be foolish of them to leave money on the table after all.

All of these look awesome. Good to see that old and new players will have even more options on a great mech.

I have in my hands one of the classic super nova in purple, fits in with my purple collection. The guy my friend picked up from could not stop raving about it, all his friends that got one and those that used his also said it was the most fun marker they used. Reliable too, was his work horse when playing(unless he decided to play pump), never had issues.

This one has not been used in years, so likely will need complete rebuild, looking to pick up orings. Maybe I will pick up a new version too.

FredMnkyDad10 - Worth noting that I had an epic game, so that helped, but from a technical standpoint:

It’s super smooth, super quiet, it’s like firing a cloud.. if that makes sense. The balls just go right where you put them. I have new style foregrip and shroud.

The n3 is officially on the site to buy, ordered myself one!

$499 for base colors, $549 for "Abyss" which looks like an acid wash and the "Tiger Camo" annos. A bit steep, but not bad compared to the N1. I'm debating ordering or waiting for the N2, but who knows how long that will be.

Edit: aw, who am I kidding, I just sold a few markers, so I got some cash floating around. Ordered one in Blue, order number 409 (giddy-up!)

For those that have one in your hands or are more familiar with the platform, what’s the initial take on reliability and maintenance on the N1? Interested in picking one up, but i only get to play a few times a year. Don’t mind some routine or pre/post play maintenance, but I am trying to avoid something that is super needy or finicky. I know I could get an Emek or something similar, but this seems more fun

Which screws did you need to loctite and which orings did you change?

            @superman

The screws that needed locktite were the one holding the firing assembly, so the center screws. The one on the top AND the one on the bottom. That's where the leaks were coming from. It's important to let the locktite cure completely (24 hours) on these too, if you only wait 15 minutes it will still leak.

For the paint breaking, I just changed the barrel collar "O" Ring to a higher durometer. The barrel wasn't reciprocating properly, occasionally it would pull the collar back just enough to prevent the barrel from going all the way forward at the back of the trigger pull. The "Nova" answer to this was to lube the barrel better, and that worked for half a Hopper before it would start miss feeding and chopping again. By swapping to a higher durometer on the 222 barrel collar "O" Ring it secures the barrel collar in place tighter so it won't slide back as easily. Completely cleared up the mis-cycles.

I did contact Nova about the Durometer change. They said they were going to reach out at some point, but understandably they have been very busy so it hasn't happened yet.

Update: Just got off the phone with Chris...apparently I was on the right track, they have noticed the 50-duro 222 "o" rings on the barrel collar can have this issue in certain climates & temperatures and have swapped to 70-Duro for all future N1 Orders. They said I should be fine to keep rocking 90s though.

          Got my N3. Pretty neat.

Abyss is indeed an acid wash. Black base with grey, a bit of purple and some greenish orange for a case hardened look.

          Initial thoughts;

Some small imperfections on the body and frame, a small nick in the frame pre ano. I can see some machining marks under the ano and it came completely covered in grease and finger prints. Has a scratch or two brand new. I dont really care though, small shop is bound to have a few imperfections.

Some of the inserts fit in the barrel both ways, most only fit in one way, and they were marked so that the identifier ends up inside the barrel. Kinda strange but not a big gripe, just odd, I'm guessing they had them arranged incorrectly in the laser machine.

Barrel swap looks like its gonna suck, you need snap ring pliers if you want fo swap to the 14 inch. I'd like a back that can take UL fronts. This would be dope with my raincover tip.

Comes with a pressure tester which is nice.

Mine has a small leak from the asa bleed hole. Might be a tank oring issue.

ASA is very tight to screw tanks to.

asa knob is kinda thin. I'd be worried about breaking it if it wasn't fill off and I fell or something.

Im not mad about anything though, this is a neat marker and I can't wait to shoot it.

Apologies gents. I meant to swap the 10/12 with the 14. It uses a system kinda like a 3 piece in a way. You have your main barrel, it gets located a sleeve and a topper gets screwed into the front of the sleeve to cover the return spring. Pic will be posted down below. It's easy enough to screw it out, just a pain if you want to swap to anything different.

I believe 2 inserts fit with the numbers out, all the rest of mine fit with the numbers in, again, I think someone made an oppsy and lazered them reversed. Not a big deal at all. Upon further inspection they will all fit the correct way but 3 of them need some elbow grease to seat the correct way. Particularly the .688. Good thing I only ever end up using .684 and down.

They are intended to fit a specific way so the tension on the sidewalls keeps it from coming out of the barrel when shooting.

by the way the inserts go into the barrel with the numbers facing the breach where you can see the breach size. They are intentionally oblong at the other end to ensure they stay positioned in the barrel. Once inserted they form to be concentric with the barrel and hold in place. There could have been an error in mfg as you said but the tight fit goes in the barrel.

Is the N3 open or closed bolt? I've heard conflicting accounts.

Both of them fire differently but unless you have them in your hand and drop a ball in and watch you likely won't catch it. While on the field or in videos.

N-1 firing cycle: Ball in breach. Barrel insert is over the ball in the breach. Trigger is pulled. Ball is fired.Barrel moves forward. ball drops. Barrel insert moves over ball. End cycle.

N-3 firing cycle:ball in breach. Barrel insert is forward not surrounding ball. Trigger is pulled. Barrel insert moves to rear over the ball. ball is fired. barrel moves forward. ball drops. End cycle.

"Is the N3 open or closed bolt?" - Technically neither as there is no moving bolt but instead the barrel closes the breach when in motion. So I guess it is more accurately called Open Breach?

superman an How would you describe the shot difference between the N1 & N3. I really like the N1 but I prefer the size of the N3. I'm ot sure which one to buy. BPS is not a factor for me.

I have better part of 1.5 cases through mine so far and yes you can feel the "recoil" it is nothing like the recoil of or even remotely close to a .22lr rifle. Honestly after pulling the trigger 3-4 times you forget all about it and after the 10th pull the sound of the marker is no longer noticeable. I really enjoy shooting the N3. If I was to have any gripe it is how easy it is to accidentally discharge. I am actually really happy there is a good trigger safety. I will get in better detail on some of the accidental discharges in my right up. I had no problem staying on target when rapid firing, most of my flyers I am putting down to the eggs and flats I was shooting more then anything else.

superman I'm only gonna change it once to the 14, but I hate Snap rings with a passion. I'd love to look into the possibility of getting a dye style back for it, mainly so I can use my preferred tips. But I think I'd have to get a weird 3 piece design for that to work judging by how this comes apart.

Siress No, the forward section is just a delrin cover to conceal the spring and probably stop paint from getting in there. The rear section is the actual barrel threads.

Dang, I've been flip flopping on ordering an N3 vs the N1. I like the smaller size of the N3, but the shroud/grip combo on the N1 looks so good. I think the N1 is a little more how I would like the gun to shoot (cocker style fire then reload) but then again the trigger on the N3 is fast/better....

And then I finally joined the Fartbook group to find that they are teasing the exact thing I want!
