    SO FKN ITCHY:

Worst part is I don't think this came from paintball, I think it was from picking wild berries near my house :/

So so thankful I am not sensitive to poison ivy/oak/sumac.... My wife even sees it she ends up breaking out and I pull it out with my bare hand. Good luck!

I was never allergic to it until my 30s. Now I get at least a small patch every time I'm in in the woods, so I pretty much have it from April-October.

I am one of the lucky ones.

I can/have low-crawled through 100m of the stuff, and not shown any signs of irritation.

If my dad so much as hears it mentioned, he is on his way to the ER.

        Biology is weird.
If you need to talk, I will listen. Leave a message and I will call you back as soon as I get it.

I was just like you, until I wasn't. One day in my 20's I got it for the first time and now I am the worst when it comes to that stuff. Prednisone does work wonders though, it is freakishly fast in healing for me. It is the only medication I have ever experienced that I can almost see working.

Don't worry, I am usually stubborn enough to spend a few days leaking before I go in.

I get it all the time. I've had it for the past 3 weeks on some part of my body. It started on my right forearm. I'm pretty sure I got that from hiking. Then I got it the next week on my left forearm, also hiking. Now I have it on both calfs. Want to guess where I got it, you're right also from hiking.

Last week we had to go through about a 20 foot patch of it on a hiking trail. Even though I wiped my legs down afterwards it wasn't enough.

A few years ago I got it at a pump day at OSG really bad. It was when they had us play on that new field they were building way out. I believe we were the first group to go and play the field. I must've gone through some and not noticed. I had it all over my forearms, ankles, face, neck and the worst part was I must've taken a piss right after playing because it was all around my dick. I called the Dr and got the roids to help.

You can still get it in the winter. When I was young I got it while sledding one year.

You are the aficionado after all! Able to determine vintage by itch and weepiness.

I never got the P.I. until after I got poison oak really bad in California. You’ve heard of a roll in the hay, well I had a roll in the leaves. Turns out the leaf litter was all poison oak. That was an uncomfortable series of months, and ever since then poison ivy has done me dirty

Supposedly the more you get it the more severe it gets subsequently 😬

Yup that seems to be the thing. My dad was highly resistant to the effects and the same with his kids in particular my oldest sister and myself. My older sister used a weed eater on some brush clearing a path to their lake and ended up weed eating a large patch of Poison Ivy and ended up killing her resistance. Now she barely touches it and breaks out. I try to limit my contact but also do spend too much time worrying about it. I suspect eventually I'll lose my resistance.

To elaborate on my post above about never getting it until I did, it seems Anarchic and I share a similar story. PI never bothered me, then I cleared a large area of brush over the course of 2 days which turned out to be alot of poison oak. I had it on my entire body including my lips which was really interesting. Since then, I have been an easy target for poison anything.

Let this be a word of caution to those that don't get it. Keep to the poison ivy and you will be fine, mess with the nastier stuff and you are doomed for life.

Its unquestionably a thing. My mom was completely immune and then after starting a new garden she has to go to the ER if she even looks at it. I've had it a few times but never super bad, I know its just a matter of time before my resistance is zero as well.

Just reading this thread has given me the weepy itchies...

I have a burning hatred for this stuff. I recently found a small, single vine trying to grow near my house and I literally salted the earth with boiling brine. If I could I would Kevin Uxbridge that crap out of existence.
