    The Expandables Explore New Fields

I started a new topic. Gave me a chance to play with the mod tools and also split the discussion from Bret's planning thread.

Ever see a thread where the first reply is older than the OP?

Where is home, KingxSlinky666 ? We have some regularish spots from Harrisburg over to Baltimore and the north end of the Eastern Shore

I'd say let's keep the 17th as is and also work on another

We are out of Gloucester VA/ Front Royal VA. We usually play out of The Swamp, the scenario calender is really light for the winter months and we don't have anything as a group planned until February when we are gonna try to go up to Pittsburgh and play the indoor field thats opening up, so getting together with some dudes to play pump would be awesome! There's a solid 5 of us with phantoms that would happily drive up to PA/MD

Premier Baltimore paintball field in Taneytown, MD. Perfect for birthdays, bachelor parties & team building events.

paintball adventure park in Taneytown MD.
I used to go there a lot. Last time may have been 2003?

That has become my go-to field lately. The only downside for MCB members is they actually focus on playing paintball without too much downtime between games to fiddle/ogle gear.

They can't ref a game if all the players walk back.

Yellow has been telling me about that field for a couple years now. I really wanna try it out. I'm in.

PAP used to be my go-to field back 03-05. I have been twice since then and both times, they weren't friendly at all to the rental groups. They would put a group of 20 or so rentals/new players against 10 more experienced heavy shooters over and over and you know the results. I'd be willing to try it out again. I remember the castle field being a lot of fun back in the day. I wonder if it is still there.

                    Yeah that castle was wicked.
Anyone know if Rick Hartmann still runs the field?
yes he does. (Answered my own question)

I played at PAP In Taneytown about every other weekend this summer. They pretty much cycle through 3 fields for rec play. There’s the “village” field that’s like plywood buildings amongst a few trees and a strip of Woods on one side that you can sneak through. There’s the “woods” field that’s Like heavy trees with plywood buildings interspersed and a larger strip of woods to sneak through on one side. Much heavier woods here and it’s all shaded by tree canopy but easy to walk and run around. Then there’s the “tombstone” field that’s just plywood buildings and no woods. It plays really fast and it’s easy to move up quickly. The regular crowd here plays it very aggressively. The fields are well kept up and enjoyable with 7 or 25 players on each side. Unfortunately the castle is not open right now to my knowledge. Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I went several times this summer and didn’t see it used.

I’d say on any given day you’ve got 75% of players with their own equipment. Half of these have mech, half have electros and there’s usually several pumps as well. There’s a 10.5 BPS cap. I’ve heard renters complaining about getting creamed several times I’ve gone. It seems like a fairly experienced player base and they don’t separate out rentals usually unless it’s a private party. .The reffing is generally pretty good. On days with less rec players showing up they turn games around really fast. On days where there are 50 rec players it can bog down a bit.

theres an airball field but I haven’t played on it all summer. Seems it’s for organized teams only. After the tournament players shoot all their paint they usually come over and play rec with the walk ons.

there’s food on site that’s pretty good. Just like burgers and hotdogs and chicken tenders but well made and affordable.

The pro shop has some stuff but it’s hit or miss. Sometimes they’ll have a squeegee to sell you, sometimes they’re out of basics like pods and stuff. But I’ve heard places are having trouble staying stocked during Covid in general.

bathrooms are port a Johns. Air fills are pretty reliable to 4500psi until late in the day.

overall I’d recommend it. I’ve really enjoyed myself during every visit. Plus the staging areas are in the woods and it’s very park like with a little creek and etc. It’s just a nice place to hang out for the day. I’ve had fun using my pm8 or my phantom
