Everything got nuked. A couple of users got caught up by accident as a couple of admins were cleaning up at the same time and innocent users got banned. I should have fixed everyone by now, please let me know if we missed anything.
Honestly I'd be really interested to learn how much of this actually pays off vs how much they have to do

Yep. While I understand that compared to phones and/or regular mail for scams, using internet is incredibly cost effective in both time and money, I still believe it would be quite a lot more cost effective to do just the tiniest research before posting on a particular website, and likewise do the tiniest amount of analysis after some months of trying on said website.
Sure, MCB most definitely has members who play computer games and MMOs. But come on - the alert level for scammers is pretty damned high around here, and those spam account can't even be bothered to post their crap in the any of the forums for computer games.
On the other hand, perhaps I'm simply showing my naiveté and lack of understanding. Perhaps that specific bot program is doing ALL the work, trawling the internet for forums, signing up on its own, posting without the need for any human to do squat.
If so, it would be perfectly understandable both regarding cost vs payoff, and regarding the rather quirky looking posts in seemly off forums in the completely wrong website.
