Ability to post .stl (or other) files?

I'd love to share some more of my 3D designs, without having to post them to Thingiverse and then link to the thingiverse page. The reason being that a few of my designs have showed up on ebay and other places (including one that I'm honestly quite disappointed in ) for sale, without attribution. I trust you guys a bit more than the general public.

I tried posting an .stl file in our 3D printing section here, but it doesn't let me post files with that extension. Is there a way to do this?

Lets hope we can i appreciate all ya share. Same as the other guys who share their designs. Can we post a zipped folder? Maybe just compress the .stl and post the file folder?

Also. What got stolen and sold on ebay?

I second this request. I didn’t notice that the repository on here was all thingiverse and cults links. I would like to post some files soon but would rather they stay in our community. Or at least push traffic to our community if someone googles for such a file.

This is why I don't share .stl files to anyone who is not a close friend. I made a design someone asked me for it then I saw them trying to sell it on FB for a crazy mark up. I wasn't planning on selling it or anything, but damn, that really upset me.

Could you upload it to Google drive then share it out that way? Of course it would be better to be able to upload right to MCB.

So it looks like the .zip file idea will work! Thanks for the idea @BrickHaus

So as an FYI, I will no longer be posting anything to thingiverse. Contemplating taking it all down... but that feels petty and ineffective.

You could purposly mis-scale everyrhing on thingiverse and let the resellers deal with returns. Or changeenough minor variables that stuff doesnt work well.

          Just to troll em.
