Hey, sometimes those pins can be bit tough to pop out if they've been left in for a long time. I used to take a small hex key that would fit through the pin hole, and give it a few LIGHT taps with something heavy. A small hammer would be fine. That was usually enough to get it out for me.
As for the spring, they are indeed a pain on the T9. I would usually just stick my finger in there and spin it until it worked it's way out. However, it's much easier to take the back block off and work everything out through there. Much less of a headache. Sometimes that spring just will not come out through the front.
