Watership Down is one of my favorites too.
Did you ever read Tales From Watership Down
? It is a book of short stories about Watership Down and was published years later. It isn't the epic story, but it is like a little bonus that is fun to read after reading the original book.
I'm reading Reindeer Moon
by Elizabeth Marshall Thomas. It's not as great as I had hoped, but it's something to read. The price was right at the used book store. I'm not sure which book I will move on to next. Maybe one of the other Gary Jennings stand alone novels.
