The best solution I've seen is some people have wedged the 9v into the grip, and using one of those micro-sized universal boards, instead of the factory (or common aftermarket ones)
At one point there was a mac-mount that had a built-in 9V tray beneath it. That was pretty clever. I'm sure it was Rainmans?
I used one of those tiny battery-boxes you can get at RadioShack for projects, and attached it to the bottomline, so at least it was hidden. I also added an on/off switch since the Rainmaker lacks one. (excluding the early 97 version)
