I'm reading Turn Coat right now. They are all pretty good. Very much like the best of 1920s pulp fiction. A bit tongue in cheek, but serious at times.

The TV show has a very different feel then the novels. The show reminded me of so many 80s era scifi/horror tv shows. ie Friday the 13th (TV SHow), Misfits of Science, Greatest American Hero, Automan, The WIzard, etc. Granted, back in the 80s, EVERY show featured a Private Eye, or "someone who solves crimes"... usually with some sort of special power.

The novels are darker, more serious. More sex, violence, etc. Good stuff. I liked his Codex Alera novels even better, but thats a different world altogether
