Review so far...

The bad... wrong power cord, bent front belt guide and the z axis being a touch out of whack and needing to be shimmed.

The good... the assembly was fairly straightforward.

The great... it prints well with only minor adjustments to make the bed level. The pause and resume feature works perfectly! The dimensional accuracy is better than I could have hoped for.

These parts are not post processed in any way. They first together perfectly. I ran out of the sample filament and had to change to a different spool in the middle of the print. To do so, I used the pause print feature. When I was done changing the filament, I hit resume and it took off again. I am amazed at how well this works.

Great news! Also be aware that the filament has a habit of eating through the extruder. Install a filament guide asap to minimize wear.

Printed the filament guide. Fits perfectly.

I have been having a few issues with the printer recognizing the SD card. No sure if it is the card, printer or an operator error. I will investigate.

As a lark, I printed a 28mm Orc figure for a friend. Not sure how it came out as I am waiting in the ER for another friend to come out. Looking for answers to why he is having gut issues.

On top better topics... the reason I was not working on the printer...

Jen made this for Tyrvi's daughter's 16th birthday party today. Unfortunately Tyrvi is the guy in the ER.

Best wishes to Tyrvi. As for the SD card, this appears to be a known issue too. The cards included with the printer are hit and miss. Ditch the card and use a known good one.

Oh man, I hope Tyrvi is doing better! That is an amazing looking cake, excellent work.

The printer setup sounds like its going pretty well, I'm sure you have to expect some troubleshooting at this price point.

Ty, I drove right by your area yesterday and was thinking of ya. In New Jersey now for some vacation

Thank you for the heads up on the dodgy SD card, JonM.

Rainmaker... should have stopped by for a few and said hi. We were just off 695 in Arbutus... if you had timed the visit right you might have even gotten a piece of that cake

Tyrvi is doing much better... none of the diaherra causing bacteria came back positive, and no elevated white cell count, so the doctors figured he got into something that didn't like his guts.

No problem. I actually intend on forgoing an SD card altogether and using a spare Raspberry Pi with Octoprint and a spare webcam. This way I will be able to send jobs to the printer and monitor progress remotely over the network. I'll be able to see everything in real time without having to go down to the basement.

Sounds like a great plan.

As a test I printed a 28mm figure for a tabletop rpg. This is after removing the supports. I did not tune the printer or Cura in any way..
