I'm running through a test benchy on the new hotend. It's a clone V6 all metal off Amazon (although, I've heard good reviews about this particular one). The printer is a home built CoreXY that used the skeleton from my FlSun Cube (it never printed well enough to make me fall in love). I haven't found a part cooling solution that I like, so I'll probably have to draw a new one up, this weekend.

I would stay away from clones. They are fun to mess with and cheap. But there are major differences that you cant see that can affect functional prints. But for models and fun they can work fine.

Home brew printers are neat to see.

I am currently flush with lots of spare nozzles I believe I have something like 20 of them... Mostly 0.4 mm, but I have both smaller and larger ones.

I will eventually get some of the hardened units, as mine are all brass. A long while ago I made a titanium nozzle for a friend. The poor heat conduction properties made it difficult to use. :/

Cool. As soon as I am 'allowed' then.

Really should have got into 3D printing a long time ago. Mainly money.

Tried a batch of parts in PETG yesterday. Learned a lesson: in older versions of Cura (ie 3.1), when you turn on combing, it turns OFF your retraction. More strings than the Philharmonic.

Thankfully salvageable. And now I've got the current version of Cura, so hopefully it won't do that again.

I checked the test part against one of the other machine's gears... The teeth are correct, but it seems I measured the one odd roll core, and therefore the center hole is the wrong size. DOH! Of course I don't have the calipers with me, so measuring the other cores is out until Monday... Then I am going to get paid on Tuesday to do the final CAD work, and print a test piece Life is good
