Thanks!

I just ordered a bunch of the free boxes from USPS. I have a batch of five PETG Hardpoints on the printer right now. Octoprint is estimating eighteen hours remaining until they're done. Just so long as nothing stupid happens between now & then, I should be ready to start selling these and shipping them as soon as the shipping supplies arrive. Then again, eighteen hours is a pretty long time where things could potentially go wrong. So, hopefully my string of bad luck is over. Taking stock of my o-rings, it looks like I have enough for ten more units. In my testing, this design works well with both size 210 and 211 o-rings. The 116's were okay but they don't have as much grip as the others. The 212's worked too but they were a little too loose for my liking. So, provided this batch of five prints out okay, I'll repeat it one more time to get my ten units and then go from there.

If all else fails, I decided to post these up on Shapeways too. Their price is a bit higher than what I hope to sell these for due to their markup, but at least it's out there and their printers are professional grade. They also have a lot more color options than I can offer. Here's the link if anyone is interested: https://shpws.me/QAaD.

Edit:

Mother power outage!!!

Sadly, that feature is lost when using Octoprint. I'm back to 2 1/2 hours down, 18 to go.

Oh... And if Fortune wasn't done making me her bitch, apparently my spool of PETG wasn't wound properly at the factory and it bound up on the roll. FML.

Tell me about it. I guess it saved me even more frustration in the long run. At least I hit the bound up filament only two hours into the second print after the power outage. If I got to the bind in the middle of the night, I may have thrown the whole spool across the room and out the god damn window.

Edit: I'm really starting to lose my patience with this roll. After untangling the roll and restarting the print again, the filament snapped inside the Bowden tube at the three hour mark. I'm back to square one with this print. It's really taking every ounce of composure to not take this roll out back and use it for target practice. If I can't get a good print out of this roll this weekend, I'm switching back to Hatchbox. I have a roll on order which should be here by Tuesday or Wednesday. Serenity now!

I woke up this morning to this - nothing wrong yet. Almost 14 hours down, 8 to go. Fingers crossed.

It's 60% with PETG. Any faster and I was getting a lot more stringing.

Whew! The first batch is off the printer with the supports removed. I have the second batch on the printer now. I actually took a risk and tried an experimental setting in Cura called adaptive layers. This setting adjusts layer height based on the geometry of the object to provide a smoother finish without printing the entire model at a low layer height. So, I can print the majority of the layers at a 0.2 resolution but the adaptive layers feature will crank up the detail where it needs it. This has resulted in a slightly longer print time, but the rounded edges have a significantly reduced stepped appearance just like they would if the entire thing were printed at an insanely high resolution (which would crank up the print time significantly). I'm really happy with the result.

I'm still cleaning these up a bit but here's how they came off the printer minus supports. I've already removed the jaggies inside the loops using a felt buffing wheel on my Dremel. Once my shipping supplies arrive, I'll start sending out PMs.
