Faux "suppressor" fixation

I'm working on a faux suppressor for Chaos's VMX (spoiler alert). I'm trying to decide how best to affix it to his barrel though. The barrel is just an 8" bull barrel, no milling or porting. The suppressor would slip over the entire length of the barrel, covering the whole barrel. I'm thinking maybe two large diameter (3/8"?) 3D printed set screws on the bottom side, thoughts?

I'm considering that too. But one problem is that the suppressor is rectangular and indexes nicely with the body contour, so I don't want it to rotate.

Why not just buy some nylon set screws?

If the suppressor is thick, you could print in a pair of semi circular shoes that are pushed down by a setscrew to clamp it on. I wanted to try this on a sight rail, but I don't have the depth. It is small, so nylon set screws will work fine with it.

I mounted my ATS loudeners by wrapping black duct tape around the barrel until it slip fit snuggly. That has worked fine for a couple of years now.

Sorry in advance that these pictures are huge. 3d printed ring that sits snugly around the barrel. Aluminum threaded ring that set screws to the 3d printed ring in 3 places. Cover screws onto the aluminum ring. You could 3d print a similar ring for yours and have the suppressor set screw directly to it.

I was just gonna use electrical tape on the barrel to hold it on, dont worry too much about it brother
