Fusion360/Makerbot Design Challenge

Anyone considering entering the Design Challenge by Fusion360 and Makerbot? I know it's not paintball related... But maybe a paintball related item could fit one of the categories, ha ha.

https://www.thingiverse.com/challeng...n360Challenge/

https://pages.makerbot.com/designsla...istration.html

I'm trying to come up with some ideas. It looks like the categories are:

[Prompt 1: #wearablefusion] - A wearable to keep someone safe while commuting. The wearable must include a way for the user to communicate directly to a guardian or the police, without becoming an additional target to any potential aggressors. The wearable must include considerations for extended use, easy charging, and integrate into daily life, without becoming an additional part of someone’s routine

[Prompt 2: #desktopfusion] - A desktop notification device. The device will be used to quietly communicate social media notifications, new email, or urgent personal errands, eliminating the need for an individual to constantly check their phone and break their workflow

[Prompt 3: #organizedfusion] - A Transforming office desk organizer for compact work spaces. The design must include at least 1 moving part and show consideration for how one would use the moving mechanisms without requiring to move the entire thing around the desk.

I thought about it for 10 seconds and didn't make it to the categories or the "prize".

That first one sounds more like an electronic device challenge. The second one is similar, I think.

I am curious how the whole thing will pan out.

Yeah if I were to enter it, I'd probably pick the third category. The first two sound like submissions will mostly be conceptual and aesthetic. But the desk organizer could actually be something that you could print and use.

But if the right idea sparks, anything is possible

The third one does look more practical. I know some people would use it. If I can't doodle on something or have someone sign it, it will get buried on my desk.

Is the event in Portland like an e-sports kind of thing, except with Fusion? I can picture it right now, with commentators, an arena, a crowd, and I'd just be there watching youtube tutorials half the time.

Maybe not quite so intense, but something like that. These guys probably already have a good grasp of all the functionality though.

Challenge #1
I know very little about bluetooth/switches/apps/wireless charging but...

What about a watch-link/latch sized "Tile" like device that pairs with your phone, wireless charges next to your watch with a discreet panic button.

Program different contact functions via the phone app. Make the device clip-able to belts, clothing etc.

Free use, go for it.
