LW Join Date: Nov 2008 Location: Bailey, MI | Thinking of a Mag
Well as the title says I'm thinking of picking up a Mag. Part of the reason I have waited so long is that I there isn't a lot of Mags (if any) in the area and not a lot of support for them. When looking at purchasing a Mag what are some of the things to look for, good and bad? I know I'll want a CF and that lvl 10 is a good thing, but other than that I'm a total noob to the Mag world and have no clue where to look for basic information on them. Also how is the maintenance on them? I am use to shooting/maintaining DMs, Egos and the like. Thanks for the help in advance.

Mags can be had new. Tunamart Xvalve, lvl 10 and a ule body are a good start. as far as maintenace, how does a couple drops of oil in the asa grab ya?

indeedy. poke around AO a little if you're at all concerned about a lack of local support - there's more than enough of an online mag community to compensate for it.

There's not really any "bad" to be concerned with, just a few key peices of information to be aware of. Don't put co2 through an r/t or x-valve. Don't flush an e-mag out with water. Etc. Read the literature, get to where you understand it, and you'll be able to maintain it, no problem. Good luck!

There are a few guys on AO in SE MI, not sure about up north or UP. What everyone else said about AO is true. Just post up in the Tech forum your question and you will get help. There are some guys that will just fix your gun if you ship it to them for free if you're still having issues... Maint? As shadawg said, few drops in the ASA and maybe replace an o-ring now and again. | |

I am buying my first mag through tunaman here in the near future. He has been very helpful and answered all my questions very quickly. As for a community I have been lurking over on AO and it seems to be a great place to get info, and over here on MCB the AGD forums are very helpful too ![]() |

If it is your first and you are hesitant, don't buy new, buy a used classic. problems are fixed easy and cheap, and it won't break the bank. If you really like them, then get a ULE with x valve, etc.

Yeah I would say read up on AO and even here on MCB. Allot of good mag people around here. Allot of the AO people are also around here. Allot has been said already here. I see that you have been used to shooting electros. Are you looking for a Mech mag or and Electro mag? Oh an just by the way mags are harder on air than most markers out there. Also depends on what your budget is.. but look at the BST section of the AO forum and you'll see prices of mags. If you have any questions as to know if a price is good or not.. let us know ![]() Last thing.. I really warn you on this.. mags are ADDICTIVE!!! hahah
