Make it fire correctly first with no shims. Then introduce the jam. The purpose of shims is to make the bolt vent right after the sear releases. So shims are there to produce a leak, but at the right spot. That's why you don't use them when you are setting up and making sure the bolt o-ring is not leaking.

It's very rare that you would ever need to use any shims. The manual is little outdated on that account and doesn't comply with the best practices gained trough the years.

As I've broke in the bolt, and removed shims. It works GGGGGreat!

Could this design work on non-mags to function as eyes as well?
