Ok, so do these work like they say they do? Also, what would be the price on one of these today? I passed up on one a couple of years back and regret it tremendously, as I don't see them popping up very often. Any thoughts?

What little I have used mine it seems to work pretty well as long as you over bore.

I personally do not think it adds any distance or anything like that. I do think they're one of the better looking mag bodies though.

Having used Cooper-T products, both the IMP kit and the Maximizer on the PMI3, which use the coreolus (sp) effect like the Z body I can say there definitely is something to it if you are over bored as stated before. The ball seems to go about the normal distance and then the back spin takes over lifting the ball a few inches and extending the range 15-20 yards.
The downside is that with the over bored barrel the accuracy really took a hit.

I am also interested to know what the z body is worth.
I have one missing the backspin knob...

On a side note to the O.P.
I noticed you are in my neck of the woods.
where do you play?

We have been playing at The Alternative Sport in blountville, tn as of late. We are going to start traveling around the area a bit more this year though and going to some bigger games. Which part of the area are you in around here?

i don't know of any set price for Z-bodies as there are very few on the market. so the price can jump up to $200+ when people want them, and $50+ when people don't. if you want one, then look for the best conditioned body you can find. make sure that you get pics of the skip pad, as if you loose that, then you have a huge paper weight. getting an actual Galatic Zbarrel is also rare.

Alas my body is missing the adjuster but I think its still useable maybe just not sellable
I thought about puttting an small cut down sight rail on over the rubber piece and tapping it for a thumb screw

IMHO, without the adjuster its almost worthless. when they were new, it was a novelty and they still are. there are some people who would see that your mod isn't stock/original so it wouldn't add anything to it and might not even work. the stock bodies would sometimes work, but anyone who would want this would want it OEM. the body without the stock adjuster you are looking at $50-75 if that. no adjuster, no clamping feedneck, and if you want cocker threaded, you have better bodies that are lighter. there is no real advantage of it anymore without the adjuster, and with it, its still just a novelty.

True
Don't think I'm trying to sell it
Of course I'm not really all that into the backspin anyway
Ule bodies IMO are boring I've always liked the classic look
Clamping feednecks are nice though
Having mostly owned classic mags the cocker threads are a nice change
Either way I think the zbody would look neat with a y frame
