minimag question

So i came into the possession of a minimag and i had a question as far as the valve goes. the current one on it says 68 automag on it and stamped field rental. so my question is; should i get an x-valve for it or leave it as is? it does have a level 10 bolt in it.

If you want a lighter valve with the RT effect, go for it. You'll only be able to use nitro with an Xvalve.

I'm pretty sure rental valves are also capped at 275 fps. Or maybe 250? I can't remember.

If that's a problem, you don't have to go full x-valve. You can probably find a used standard valve for $50 and swap over the Level 10 parts. Then sell the rental valves for $30 or so.

some rental valves were capped. something to do with the power tube dimensions I believe. all other valves except RT classic will fit your marker. all RT style valves require hpa to run where classics will run on Co2. the only difference between an RT Pro, E mag or X valve is the X weighs less. your choice.

The power tube just needs to be drilled out on those to achieve velocity. Since his had lvl 10 maybe it's already been done.

True. The velocity cap on rental valves is from a smaller diameter hole in the power tube, which prevents the use of the level 10.

A level 10 rental valve is real sleeper material. Wonder what kind of on/off it has.

from the color of your o rings I recommend an o ring kit. pull the carrier and flat washer out of the power tube as well.
