Proud new Owner of a Jeweled Automag

Good evening everyone! Im posting here in the armory as a first time owner of an AGD Automag. After 19 years from the first time seeing one Ive finally bit the bullet and purchased one from eBay that I Liked. Ive been a lurker of this forum for a while and finally made an account last month to join in.Ive always been an Autococker fan and have had a few for the few years that I played in the very early 2000s. Its been about 15 years since Ive played and some friends are getting back into it so I decided to make a change and try something else out.
what better way to get back into it by trying the Autocockers Rival the Automag. I'm not really into the new Electro stuff either and after having a 2k4 BKO that was riddled with issues I'm staying purely Mech. So without further rambling here's the mag after a tear down and a deep clean. All the O rings fell apart in hand and I am just waiting on a rebuild kit I had ordered to arrive.

I did some research before buying this Mag and there was a Member on automags.org and MCB that Jeweled Mags for Members and was just wondering if somebody knows or remembers anything about this Particular Setup? I just thought it was really nice gun and Pretty unique so I'm excited to rebuild and use it for my return to paintball!

Thanks for all the help!

Spider! did a couple of jeweled Mags if I remember correctly.

Jordan you are correct,During my search that was the member that I found on a few threads that was doing the jeweled mags I think they Look Awesome!

On another note does anyone know what barrel setup would be a good start getting back into the game?

Im certain this TASO barrel has a fairly large bore size of .690 or higher

the barrel debate is a deep hole. some people swear by under bore some by over bore some by bore matching. with today's crappy paint i have yet to find something that works as good as barrels did back in the mid 90's. try the TASO at your local field first you may find it works ok as long as the detent keeps the ball from rolling out. it won't be as efficient on air however.

Freak barrels are available for Mags but expensive, and I think that Lvl 10 bolts have a problem with really small-bore barrels and inserts, if IIRC.

I wouldn't worry too much about bore matching - like Vintage said, as long as the detents can keep rollouts at bay, use whatever you want. I'm partial to All American barrels on anything I use, especially Mags... they've always seemed to work well for me.

If you want to use "Freak" barrels or just any AC barrel, I am really liking Doc's adapter, it works great. With a Lvl 10, Doc's adapter and a Freak barrel I like to match bore the paint or just slightly overbore, if I don't I sometimes get unwarranted chuffing from the lvl 10.

I've been trying to figure out if I did that body or not. The body is all I ever saw of any of them. I did a few for arseb4agze on AO, two of which were pump mags. I think I saw someone on MCB jeweled one their own. I think I have done one long neck, but I don't recall who it was for. Is the underside jeweled as well? My setup works all around the body, so if the underside was skipped it would be someone else's work.

I kind of like doing the actual jeweling. It's the polishing that is the killer. 220 grit on up to 1500 grit on that stainless takes hours. I've never been able to make the process more "affordable" for either party.

Ain't that the truth. I spent an hour or 2 polishing a minimag body and gave up cuz I was getting nowhere.

As for barrels, I agree wholeheartedly about docs autococker adapters. I would normally recommend a freak, but considering how expensive twistlock freak backs are, and how rare they are, the adapter is a much easier solution. And you can always run a cocker threaded freak on that.
