Reg backs interchange

I've seen some mags with vigilante backs and I've heard basically all the AA reg bottoms will fit. Looking through some pics I noticed the overall setup of the ans gen-x regs is eerily similar. Anybody ever tried to put a gen x bottom on a mag?

if your talking about the back half of the classic valve there were several aftermarket ones made back in the day. they all claimed to be better than stock but were not. if i remember correctly the AA is aluminum and while the performance won't change the few grams in weight savings might be nice.

Genx regs fit... I've done it a couple of times.

The reduced weight is nice.

Cool. Thanks for the input. I always thought gen x regs looked awfully similar to the AA uniregs.

I had a Vigilante reg, and the bottom did not work on my mag. Black Ice regs work, apparently.

A few years ago, someone did a weight comparison for me, in case you're interested:

I should note that the Mag guts need to be swapped over... the GenX overpressure piston is set too high, and the valve seat and reg pin are different from the Mag version.

Other than that, it threads right on. Cuts a bunch of weight from the back of the gun.

So the piston, pin and seat need to come from the mag? I don't have a reg to steal parts from at the moment, but I have a mag reg missing the main spring and adjuster.

This is the reg bottom I was thinking of. After looking closer it would make sense to be a black ice. The vigilantes have an adjustment screw that's almost the width of the reg body.

Here is another one...

Black ice reg back... rail trimmed at the back to align with the reg back... shaved wings on the rail... and on the grip frame (auto response modified to match a RTP rail).

I did have to switch out the internals... works great though!

And totally weird looking.

I actually just scored a black ice for parts on eBay. So that's what will be going on mine. Of course that was right after I bought some ANS regs.
