Automag questions

Picked up an Automag today in a bulk purchase. I havenít planned on keeping it but am not very well versed in them. Cycles fine, but had a leak that stops when the trigger is pulled. It has an aftermarket shocktech valve and an aftermarket bolt. Also had 2 barrels and a sight rail )not shown). Not sure of the valve on this since I have heard that a lot of people prefer the factory parts etc....Just looking for advice on its worth so I donít get flamed.

If the back half of the valve is aluminum, and Shocktech, then you've got something there. They aren't impossible to find but fetch a little more than a Diamond Labs one, for example.

What body, frame, barrels, etc? Post some pics so we can see! We can give you a better estimate of its worth that way.

A little side note, that leak can be fixed with a new power tube oring.

You're well versed for a first time mag owner.

Looks good. You might check that you have a "new" (second gen?) power feed plug and do something with the expansion chamber if you like. Looks very playable. I don't recognize the chamber. I like the J&J barrel.

I couldn’t find any markings on the expansion chamber either so I am not familiar with it either. I have had this same J&J barrel on other markets and liked it.

I believe the expansion chamber is an early ANS.

Gonna see about replacing the power tube oring as someone suggested. Not sure if this is the same shocktech valve that scottieb was talking about or not.

I'm not really sure how much that valve affects the cost, but even if it had a standard valve, I think you could easily get $100 shipped for this, especially if you're including 2 barrels. If you fix the leak first, you could maybe get $20 more.
