Need Viking help ASAP
Every time I try to replace the orings on the stem of my SCM, they both get shredded. Is there some kind of sorcery I was suppose to learn? The manual says size 015 orings, and that's what I put on every time with no success. :(

Please MCB, you're my only hope.

Remove the HPR and look up through the asa and you'll see where the SCM threads in. You'll be able to see the o-rings. Put some oil on the o-rings before you start. When you start screwing it in, use something to push the o-ring down while it's going in to keep it from getting pinched. I usually use a small screw driver. Just push the o-ring in a little bit, screw it in the SCM a little bit, push the o-ring in, etc.

Also be sure they're urethane 70 durometer. Tank o-rings are a 90 durometer which means they're not as soft and more brittle causing them to chip and shred easier. Most stores don't stock them, but you can order the correct ones from Destructive Customs.
