What's a Black Rain worth?
I was just digging in some boxes of parts, and ran across an old (disassembled) VM-68 that I used to play with back in the day. The gun itself has some... well, 'damage' is the best word for it :D from when I tried some homebrew mods back before I had any decent tools or, for that matter, knew what I was doing. :D
But it has a complete, unmolested Air America Black Rain expansion chamber kit on it. The little "sub chamber" that bolted to the underside of the body has a little wear and tarnish, but the rest is cherry. Well, no braided hose, though, but that's an easy replacement.
What's it worth? Anyone even shoot a VM anymore? And if so, do they even use CO2?
I might just reassemble this thing (I have other parts VMs) and put it up as a wall-hanger. Probably the highest and best use. :)
pics or shens!
but seriously, i would put it low. you never know when the gun will break your brackets because of its immense weight, and bounce off everything else on the wall. :D
make sure you use the 75 lb per wall anchor srews
I'm showing my age here but, this is what I thought of when I seen Black Rain.
I recently paid $50 for a brand new never used Thumper kit. So a little less than that maybe?
I saw the thread title and thought we were talking about the member
and thumper was only worth $50.
We're all cheap, I guess.
And, in a fit of nostalgia, I spent a pleasant hour cleaning the parts and reassembling it:
Works like a champ, actually. Most of the modded parts (you can see a ground-down hammer in the box) I'd replaced years ago (since, you know, they didn't work and all... :D ) so as she sits, it's nearly bone-stock save for some slightly enlarged ports in the valve, body and bolt.
It's also so heavy that it makes a '58 Buick Roadmaster look like one of those shoes with the roller in the heel. :D
Those things were the best.
If you started taking fire and needed a bunker you could just BEAT DOWN the tree next to you and use that.
