Is the empire super freak barrel kit any good?

I'm wondering because I'm thinking of getting one of course, but are they any good? I dont see the point of having an aluminum tip when you can have the carbon fibre tip on, whats the difference between using the two?

I wouldn't buy all the claims made in the ads but, it's a good freak kit with the added benefit of coming with an extra carbon fiber tip.

Is it the best barrel kit? No- ideally, the control bores would be longer but, when you get the other sizers, you get maybe the best in bore size flexibility.

Some folks believe (I've not seen any definitive testing data) that the carbon fiber tips are quieter. These days, it makes perfect sense to just use the carbon fiber. It's lighter, and it doesn't have the problems associated with the early stiffi barrels.

On a second note, the entire reason I'm asking is because I was going to go with a deadly wind barrel, but it's dissappeared off ansgear and my local store paintballgear.ca

If you are ordering it online get it from Pinnacle Paintball Supply. Or wait for Paintballgear.ca to get them back in stock. DW are awesome barels.

From my understanding, it's not that CF barrels are quieter, but the material difference resonates differently so we perceive the shot as "quieter" even though the shots may have the same actual sound level.

But yeah, Deadlywind is the way to go. I swear by mine.

Yeah. What concerns me is the huge difference between the inserts. But why would they include an aluminum tip if you already have the carbon fibre? I probably won't use the apex either, so I guess I probably should get a deadlywind.
