Elbow Pads

What elbow pads are do you wear? I've finally got the cash to ad elbows to my set up. I'm a thin guy with long arms so I want something that runs long. Ideally they should breath very well because it gets hot here in So Cal. Thanks!

I've got some JT elbow pads that work pretty well.

They don't slide around all too much and have a nice amount of padding. Not too restricting either. Id on't know if they still sell them though.

Dye hands down. best fitting, longest lasting and comfy.

I wear the newest Empire ones due to the fact I got them, basically, brand new at a really good price. If I was buying brand new at full price, I would have gotten the Dye ones. Trying them on in the store was how I figured out what I liked.

ouch, those DYEs are 60 bucks. Anything cheaper, like in the 40 bucks range? I looked at the PE stuff, Any opinions?

I use the PE ones. The foam color has changed over the years but the style hasn't.
Eventually the thumb gussets wear out.
I never liked that feature anyway and ended up cutting them out.
I'm a big believer in wearing padding though especially on the extremities.

This..

And the empire ones are nice too.
I strongly suggest staying away from the Valken ones though

I own the following:

Planet Eclipse Overload 2011 - Good for the price. I've used them a lot over the 2 years I've had them. would have liked adjustable straps on them but they do the job well. The seem to run a touch long so might be perfect for you. As mentioned these have stayed pretty much the same through the years.

Empire Grind ZE 2011 -These are just plain awesome. Superb protection & comfort. Empire would be my pick if buying again. Newer models are also pretty similar

My local pro shop stocks the Empires so I'll give those a try. The only reason I don't shell out the 60 bucks for the Dyes is that I don't dive all that often, most of the time I do knee down slides and only once in a blue moon will I superman into the snake. Up to now, I've been happy with only knee protection, but in a recent game, I had to army crawl long distances which wrecked my forearms. In this weather, wearing a jersey would be suicide. So pads and a tee seem like the best option.

If the empires don't fit me comfortably, these look like a promising option.

The PE ones are pretty nice. Relatively breathable where there isn't padding, good padding where you want it. They're just a tiny bit loose on me when long enough though; the ones that fit snuggly are too short to use the thumb loops. Best to try them on first if you can, but either size is good enough on me that I don't notice them while playing.
