HPA

Maybe this question has been asked before? I'm looking to purchase a new HPA, currently I have a FS 62/3000. The quality of the FS seems to be subpar, and either the regulator is not working, or it's not filling to its capacity. I'm currently shooting an egripped A5 and a minimag. Let me know what tank I should purchase? Size and money aren't an issue. Thanks!

The better question is how many shots do you want/need between fills?

There is a basic rule of thumb used to size tanks...

Rated PSI (4500 or 3000) divided by 300 times the volume in cubic inches = approximate shot count. This number will be too high if the marker is very inefficient, or too low if the marker is very efficient.

3000 psi / 300 = 10 x 62 cubic inches = ~620 shots on a fully filled tank

I use a Ninja SL 45/4500 (4500/300 = 15 * 45 ci = 675 shots) on my T2, and I usually fill once in the morning and I top off when I leave the field in the evening.

My two go-to tanks for when I plan on shooting a lot are my 50/45 and 68/45 Ninja carbon fiber tanks.

Ninja has great regulators and I haven't had any problems with the tanks at all.

I've been trying to justify the expense of a Ninja SL2 for a while. They seem like the nicest tanks out right now. Maybe next year...

Is the issue that you aren't able to shoot a lot per fill? If so, as the others have suggested, a higher psi rating is in order. I run around with a 45/4500 or a 68/4500 and haven't had any issues with running out of air even on a 24 hour game. Noted, I don't shoot a ton but even my less efficient setups don't limit me much. Ninja has been my go to reg/tank as of late. Super easy to service, works great and good prices.

Also keep in mind that when you fill up a tank from near empty to full , it gets hot and once it cools off the pressure drops down a bit. That would be called a "hot fill." So you may not be at the max 3k psi but maybe ~2.9k psi or so depending on what the max fill limit is at your field.

FS regs are really rebranded Guerrilla regs, which were crap. That shouldn't affect your efficiency though.

PM'd you, have a great condition Ninja 50/4500 used a handful of times that was extra from lot buy. Two years and 3 months left on hydro and willing to sell low priced. Great tank, I have had one as my go-to for several years.
