You don't necessarily need sticker paper. I've made jewels on thick paper, thin 3D prints, and regular copy paper.

I actually didn't know I was using sticker paper until after I bought it. I glued on my first set with RTV silicone before I realized what I was doing. but I needed special paper for the silver background, the original PE jewels had a foil backing, I was just trying to make them as authentic as possible. I'll try to print out a few tonight, I'll post the results.

Did you try contacting PE? Last time I did they sent me a sheet of stickers that perfectly suited my project

No. I just assumed they were too old. That would be crazy if they still had some. Back in the day they sent me free stickers for my 05 ego when one fell off. They've always been pretty good about things like that.

so I printed out the design I made but it looks bad. I'll either need to try a transparency or a different printer. the ink beaded up too much.

on the left is an original, the rest are ones I printed

What? This is a way better logo than the current one, IMO.

One way to try and prevent the ink doing that is to use alcohol on the surface before printing. What you're seeing is high surface energy aka static causing the ink to pool.
