That could be the case, but it seems odd to not allow so many high end paints just for the fill. If someone is shooting first strike they are obviously either a mag fed player or are breech loading, which is easy to see.

All "winter blend" paints use oil, that's how they function better in cold weather. Every paint company I've talked to is very open about this.

The light blue is kind of odd. Around here the most common paint people try to sneak into all the local fields is "Triumph" which consistently has a half blue, half light blue shell, and light blue fill. It's the cheapest paint at all the sporting goods stores @ $30 a case and its always showing up where it's not supposed to be. I don't know if this is just in my area or if its consistent around North America, but they may be directly combatting the fill colors that are sold locally around them in Big Box stores.

I recall hearing from a field that the white paint attracted rodents. They banned it to minimize bunker damage from mice and rats. I have no idea why white paint would attract them and others would not but I was not the one running the field.

That's another really good point. That stuff is total garbage. The fill is a pain to clean off of guns.

It's the white that most surprises me. The few byop events/fields I've been to are almost exclusively white/clear fill only.
