Easiest PGP detent method?

So...I started December with 1 PGP, and now I have 3. Look...mistakes were made, we could go round and round assigning blame, but the point is two of them will be rollout central (the one I started with has wedgets).

So, as far as I know, the options are wedgets, the PPS clip-and-ball-bearing thing, a 'cocker detent, and good ol' nail polish.

None of these are particularly appealing options, since I would ideally do this myself, and aside from the nail polish require a bit of work to...work. Work that must be done carefully lest I ruin a perfectly good PGP. Nail polish is fine, but won't last forever.

So my question, experts, is this: Am I missing something? Is there a mod that I'm overlooking?

Thanks, MCB hivemind.

You pretty much hit the list of options. Nail polish is the easiest. You can try using epoxy instead of nail polish, that may last a bit longer.

Being meaning to mod a wire detent that actually travel with the bolt. Just haven't had the time to vent it out, but soon.

Clip and ball and (usually) cocker detents are for double feeds. Wedgits and nail polish are for rollouts.

One of our locals uses a pipette to apply nail polish in the barrel. I use 0.011 fishing line on the bolt face. After a few days of play, the braided line is looking a bit raggedy (but working), I have some mono-filament to try next.

I've seen another option. I've not used it but I've seen it. It's a short piece of yarn that is tied to the gun and extends down the barrel a little keeping the ball snug. From discussion, it gets worn and cuts itself off with the bolt in time....so it needs to be replaced.....but as long as we're naming options I just wanted to throw it out there.

I swear by wedgits, as long as you measure thrice "cut" once you should be okay.

Palmer style ball detent for double feeds. Palmer style wedgits for roll outs.

Both are best methods

Nail polish or epoxy wedgit can work. It goes so the ball is wedged with bolt forward. Not in front of where ball rests with bolt forward.

Thanks for all the info. I'm not worry about double feeds since we're talking "rock back" here and neither semi nor springfed. So I need some wedgets, sounds like.

Edit: And I have successfully installed them myself. Win!
