I’m still using my first generation Rotor from 2009. I have an updated “shark fin” I got from Dye at some point and I added Velcro battery straps. (First ones didn’t have them). I have never felt the need to purchase a new hopper in the last 10 years. I run Lithium Ion batteries in it. Usaly good for about a year with regular use. Hopper has never let me down in all the years I have owned it. Haven’t tried the LTR but if my Rotor craps the bed I’m just going to fix it at this point. The Rotor rocks!

You are looking at 1.05 vs 1.3 lbs. I doubt it's any one area. Cutting out the windows and jewels will help. I'm also betting the walls were made thinner (just a guess though) the r1 was very robust. Could probably trim some material out of the wall and still be just fine

Can't find a weight in the spire IR but the original spire is at 1.15lbs.

I don't think the LT-R is lighter than a regular Rotor. If it is then the difference isn't notable. There is probably some confusion even amongst retailers based on the name. I just weighed an empty LT-R at 1.09lbs and one with batteries at 1.29lbs. That might be the reason you have different weights published for the different models.

thanx for the info guys, ima run it by my sis, and order whatever she wants. but in the next month or two, i might be in the market for a new elec hopper, and this has me leaning very far towards the LTR.

I always recommend buying from your local store if you have one. If you don't have one, then ANS has great deals on clearance discontinued colors of gen3 Rotors that might be appealing to your sister.

I had my hopper airbrushed, custom texture and colors, throw a clear coat on it and it's lasted the previous 7 years. Only now is it starting to wear off but as I mentioned, I've already moved on to a spire so not really a problem
