Most efficient markers I know of:
Spyders with EKO valve
Gamma Core markers
Dye M3
Dye DSR
G6r
Supposedly some Angels were claimed to be able to get a case off a 68/4500? I don't have first hand experience on this one.

I believe most efficient will be the M3, G6r, or Spyder
Followed by Gamma Core markers and DSR.

Get a barrel kit that you can match paint (size) to. Use high quality paint that is both consistent and round.

Beyond that, that Axe or Ego should be able to be tuned to be very efficient. I would start with barrel match, tune dwell down as far as the marker will reliably shoot. Give up a little velocity, and you should find yourself in good shot numbers with either of them.
yes. underbore and you'll get better numbers. These are all very good ways to get better efficiency.

Probably one of the current electronic dye (m3 and above) or maybe a PE high-end with the gamma core pro. I assume since maxxloader you would want leccy. I would go phantom based for the airow if possible.

How much paint are you trying to shoot and what tank are you using?
Maxxloader is 2K rounds. Doesn't feed consistently fast, plenty of missed shots during test videos if over 10-12 bps. So tune the ego11 as described, set it for 10 bps, and bring a 90 cu in tank and you'll be close. A vice, g6r, or viking will do it off a 68. An insight/onslaught will do it with an 80 but that's about the tops for a spool.

My old v6 angel with a tornado valve (pre lcd) would clear the case level. But we rarely tune guns to do that any more.

Not a crazy efficient one. If the name of the game is efficiency it wouldn't even make my short list

I've done a little efficiency tuning and can get 1760 shots out of my vanguard Creed with some room to spare (not sure how much, always run out of paint before air but I know im running low on air by the end) 11pods + 220 hopper

Ninja 68/45, deadly winds fibur (5" freak inserts) tuned the dwell some (not maxing it out) but am not running higher pressures either.

I wouldn't bother buying another marker if you have the ego, if you are trying to max out efficiency here are a few things

1) higher hpr/lpr, lower dwell
2) barrel is going to play a large roll. According to Tom Kaye (AGD) as long as I'm remembering right, a 8-10 inch effective length is what you are looking for for best efficiency. If your barrel is half porting, this translates to a 16-20 inch barrel. BUT, if you are using a barrel kit, the effective length is the length of the control section of the barrel. Lots of companies make long control bore barrel kits these days, unless you can find a barrel that is the exact bore you want, those are probably a good option

3) check your bolt, a lot of stacked tube poppets don't use o rings on the bolt, to help efficiency you need 3, one on the bolt tip and one on either side of the air passage. Pooty makes a good bolt for what you are looking to do

Do you remember how much paint it was? I remember reading an article about it but can't find it in a quick Google search

No, I don't remember. You're probably very close in estimation, though.

It was very interesting because his extra tanks in the cascade system had to be high output pressure in order for them to properly feed air to the system.

Ya I remember that, they first tried with SLP tanks bit they didn't have enough pressure to push the air into the tank on the marker.

The point was that it's not a spool like you stated.

I've probably done more tuning on the Axe platform than most and it can actually be quite efficient. Like 1800 shots from a 77. Not the best but better than most seem to realize.
