Annodizing question

Hi all, i have never sent anything in for reannodizing, but was just wondering:
If a part is chrome or nickel plated, can it be annodized?

Not until after it's stripped. The de-plating process can be hit or miss, it may not come out the greatest in my experience

Annodizing question

For annodizing the secret of a good final finish is to have a smooth finish first
Chrome and nickel plating ano should be removed first
There is chemical you can use to remove it or you can sand blast the part (but you will also need to polish it after)
Gloss ano need good prep, if you are doing dust finish it is slightly less critical
