First strike 10ci tank?

Anyone ran a 10ci tank on a phantom/pump gun
Is it worth it shots wise

The average claimed shot count seems to be about 120 from the 10 ci tank. I'd seen anything from 100 to 140 and an occasional 150 - 170 claim. Use an efficiency tune, heavier valve spring etc, and a clear gas path, something on the order of a Lapco #6 power tube for those higher numbers.

Of course, fill quality will be key with such a small tank. A hot filled 2.7k that drops to 2.4k by field time will be quite noticeable. This is an issue at times at fields since getting a full 3k fill with their equipment isn't always possible. An on gun cold 3k fill and shooting 280 rather than 300 will bring better numbers.

Depends on how much you intend to shoot. Is it worth it to "YOU" is the question.
Sure, you can get anywhere from 5-10 twelve grams worth of shots depending on the marker, not sure if first strikes need more. But if you only have the one tank then that's it ~ yer done, leave the field and refill.

Technically, if you play often using 12G's and not a "Purist" when it comes to stock class, then the cost of a small tank that needs to be filled with every hopper can be less expensive than using 12G's.

If you're running vertically, I really think it's a good choice. Its a solid 1.5" shorter than my 13ci Pure Energy tank and it makes running my automag pistol a breeze. With that gas hog I was pulling around 70-80 shots off a fill.

Even running it with a 9 ci tank, I'd say it's worth it - especially when you're playing in colder seasons when 12 grams may not be practical. Besides, if you're shooting more paint than a 9 or 10 ci tank can provide on a Phantom, you're probably shooting more than most stock class players do.

To second what everyone else has been saying. I think I have a 9ci and I find it gets about 100 shots. I tend to shoot 80 per round. The smaller tank is noticeably smaller and lighter. It's nice. (Pictured next to a freak insert).

It is definitely worth it. The only downside to running HPA on a Phantom is that it is louder than using CO2, but getting unlimited fills and not having to count shots anymore is worth the trade off. I only use 12 grams during 12 gram games only now.

I bought a 9, 10, and 13CI tank. I like the 13CI tank the best when using it as a stock.

Consider which regulator to use also. Some of the myth and myth knock off regs make for a really short tank. That's great for vertical, if you can thread it in front of the trigger guard. Otherwise you have to assemble it empty, then fill it up once it's on gun. This is the smallest way to do it though.

A 17 with a myth is my perfect length to shoulder. Nice and tight and healthy amount of shots. Anything else is just too short to shoulder without an extension or a longer, heavier reg. Then what's the point of having an even smaller tank with less air?
