The square nuts for the bottom line can be seen in the first pic so I would guess composite frame. I personally avoid painted automags. The tolerances can be tight and adding material between two pieces just invites trouble.

I saw that but couldn't remember if it was unique or not. It's been too long since I've taken the grips off my old frame. Cut frames don't hang around for me anyway.

This thread makes me wonder if I need a new automag project.
