Half block bolt options?

I have a half blocked WGP Prostock Sniper and want to replace the bolt. The bolt I got it with is an open face made by Stanchy. Recently fell apart, so time to replace.

I recently inquired with SSC about a bolt, he said he could slot one for detent, then stopped replying to my emails and never sent anything after I paid for one...Thankfully PayPal refunded me, so that being said I will not buy from him.

Does anyone know if the TechT Hush bolt marketed for the Empire Sniper would work? Or are these a different length?

There is also the Inception Designs Trident MB bolt that looks like a good contender.

I'm assuming you are using a top pin style if you are looking at sniper bolts

I use a sniper bolt in a 2k5 superstock body

Now that said, the lengths are slightly different and because I'm using a sled for mid block rather than half block I have a little wiggle room that allowed me to make it work still.

I recently had a problem where the marker would not make velocity, turns out I had the pump arm/ram/sled turned out slightly too far and was blasting air up the feedneck

The other thing I noticed is I believe I am running 1 size smaller o rings on the bolt than what is on it in the sniper. I'm not 100% sure on this though. But I had a lot of friction with one size and so I just went down one size.

If you want a more drop in replacement look for a 2k5 black magic bolt. You can even use the 2k5 BM pump arm as it is already the correct length. The sled is too tall stock but it's nothing a bastard fine can't solve if you would rather run a sled (hell, contact me if you do, I already have one that is trimmed down and annoed that is not being used because I went to the ID delrin sled)

The big difference with the BM bolt is it's a lot longer overall because they put the ball bearing and spring behind the bolt pin

And it's white, both of which I didn't like so I tried the sniper bolt

Thanks for the reply!

When you say Sniper bolt, are you referring to a stock Empire Sniper bolt? Or something else?

The bolt o-rings should be a size smaller. The Ressi and ID upper tubes are actually bigger than a WGP upper tube. Not a ton, but enough to really mess you up if you're using the wrong size.

Don’t the old super fly bolts fit? I feel like I had a halfblock with one for a while. Can’t recall

I found an Empire Sniper bolt assembly here for not a bad price.

My question is, since my marker has a single ball style detent, will I experience any issues with hangs/snags since this bolt is designed for dual rubber nubbin style detents?

I have not and it's nothing a needle file can't fix if you do

I filed a larger Grove into mine so the detent has more room

Yeah you don't need cut outs for detents at all.

I'd use empire bolt since it's a hi production standard autococker half block bolt and it's really the only thing like this.
