Sock lock external diameter

I see people using sock locks as stick feed gates and I'd like to try that myself, but I dont know what the diameter of them is (and they aren't that common in the UK ) so I'm hesitant to buy them online, wait for delivery and find out they won't fit my DIY stick feed (22mm od overflow pipe)
So, can anyone spare a couple of minutes to measure their sock locks and let me know? I'm assuming they're all pretty much the same size.

The CCI gates are about 29mm OD. My last one is hiding because I made a 3d printed version. I probably put it in a "safe" place.

The outside rim is about 3mm thick, then you have to have clearance for the ears to bend inside with the 21mm 10-round tube.

That's where the feed gate assembly comes from. The "sock keeper" piece is usually larger than your feed tube OD. Some of our guys use three zip ties through holes drilled around the mouth as a gate.

Another feature of feed gates is an inside shoulder where the clearance for the fingers ends, which is just narrow enough to stop the 10-round tube from going in any further. The depth to that shoulder is a little longer than the fingers of the gate.

My print is 29.31mm OD, but that may have some shrinkage allowance.

Actual print measures 29.21mm OD and fits where the CCI gate was, just as snug.
My Feedback

some things are stickier than others

There is some size variance. I think the phantom ones have a slightly smaller rim thickness than the ones carter machine uses. They're close, but I if you design your feed based on the phantom machine dimensions the ones for carters may not fit. I've always designed my feeds based on phantom because I have them for my phantom anyway.

It sounds like whatever style I get will be too big for the tubing I'm using.
Think I'm going to do some experiments with an offcut and some zip ties, instead.
Thanks for the advice, folks.
