Well I'd say that the problem with the Redux is the size of the valve.

I'd REALLY like to see 30 shots off a 12ie but what can you do?

I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate.
And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

That's Sheridan efficiency. Throw some crap in the valve...screws, spacers, whatever and see if it helps.

Sheridans are much more efficient than that... you are just seeing poor efficiency because of huge bores compared to small paint.

Okay, so I'll bite. How does a slam changer work? I tried google, but it didn't get me anywhere.

You literaly slam it shut on a cartridge and it has a spring system that holds the cartridge holder against the cartridge so it doesn't just kick back at you. Some like the in grip slam changers have a "hook/catch" system that is spring loaded that catches a point in the grip. You slam/smack the bottom of the grip shut and it closes on the cartridge and the cartridge is pierced. When you push on the release on the back lower portion of the grip (where the lanyard attachment point would be on a 1911) the bottom of the grip opens that the cartridge can be removed.

There are also slam changer that screw into asa's (made by WGP back in the day... and some were modified by Carter Machine) and some like the Mac-Quick that replaced the cartridge knob on sheridans.

It's not a big deal for me, but I have to admit, it's pretty damn nice to be able to get 45 shots on my Minicomp, whether I'm shooting more than usually or I just leave it in for 2 shorter games in a row. Only difference with the Redux is I always change 12g before each game and occasionally I have to switch mid game.

Although the Redux uses freak inserts, so that shouldn't be a big problem.

The redux is also Nelson based.. not sheridan based. A nelson is more easably tune-able than a sheridan.
