The stein sounds like an awesome idear. I'd buy one if it was powdercoated and such. Another good idea for the smaller bottles would be to clean out the inside and find a plug to replace the valve so it would be like those metal water bottles that EMS sells.

don't care about the valves really, but if it has one leave it in place.
if not no big deal.

If I send a canister how much does it cost to get it converted to a stein?

to be honest,
I don't really know yet.

1) pick up and cross border (might get taxed, not sure)
2) decapitate
3) remove existing finish
4) polish/refinish (anodizing or powder coating, not safe to drink from otherwise)
5) make handles & mounts
6) sit back and laugh about how cool this is.

might get some laser etching done to;
MCB logo's or something.

got some other over the top, I started giggling like an idiot just thinking about them treatments for the Steins.

one actually involves a bucket changer, LPR, ram, valve/switch, and trying to keep a straight face..........
Introducing the "AUTO-STEIN"
push the button and the lid pneumatically opens and closes.

An MCB coat of arms would be cool.

I'd be interested in getting an old 20 of mine made into one.

Heh, Pnu-Stein

I won't rehydro them, it cost more than just to replace them.

Can I sell them WITHOUT being liable?

I cut a few in half to become pencil holders.
Some became wind chimes in our target range.
I could recycle them for the aluminum value.

Someone here suggested to double up the rupture disks, over fill them, and then put an AP round through them. Uhm...Any other REALISTIC creative ideas out there??

R
I've always thought that someone w/ access to hydro facilities could make a killing buying up dead tanks for like five bucks, and reselling them as refurbished for 10-15ish.

That's why there's the exemption rules on metal tank rehydros for the smaller bottle sizes. Its not cost effective to re-test them otherwise compared to what new ones cost, and the exemption prevented a lot of needless disposal/recycling of otherwise still good tanks.

As to the turning a tank into a stock with an intergrated tool chest... the tools themselves depends on the field. If they're having the players chrono their own guns then obviously they need to be able to bring tools with them. If the field just leaves allen keys lying around the fill station, then players will steal them.

If you have the means to run double-tanks on your gun... you can use the old co2 tanks as the MOTHER of all expansion tanks.
