I paid like $4 or $5 for shipping from McMaster Carr and it was same day delivery. Blew my mind.

That's crazy! When I ordered SS brass tipped glide screws for my Bob Long humpback frame and x-rings for my Axe poppet, shipping was exorbitant. It might have been because it was so many single items, but I haven't been back since to try. I would have never ordered them if I could have gotten them anywhere else, but the screws are a very odd thread.

Even still, I don't think using a cut spring is a good idea for hammer and valves. They are too important to consistency to try. I'm not even sure what weight/tension would be ideal.

I don't love Madman springs but they are a necessity. Maggot is the only guy I know who has managed to put together a spring set outside of a company. It would be nice if someone could find the tensions we need and make spring sets geared specifically toward modern cockers. Sets that don't include the unnecessary tensions like the red Madmans. With the popularity of cockers rising, it's feasible to do it and not lose too much money lol.
