It most likely is bad. That said, what 3-way is it? judging that the leak is from the rear I am guessing a stock style 2 o-ring valve, that being the case it might not be going far enough to fully seal in the rear position.

A bad ram wouldn't make the 3-way leak. However even with a leak, a good ram should be able to recock the marker.

I would adjust my 3-way coupler back 3/4 of a turn or so and see if that stopped the leak.

A bad ram will leak out of the 3way... the air pressure can bypass the internal seal on the ram plunger and leak out the 3way ports, through the hoses. It's not super common, but it happens.

I had a bad seal on a ram pretty recently.... the 3way leaked no matter what I did. I finally pulled the ram apart and replaced the plunger seal - it was mostly goo.

Yeah,

Seems I've just gotten a lemon. The ANS ram was failed. Did a soap bubble test and it was leaking where the parts are crimped together.

Got a new ram, and the problem changed. The four-way now leaks continuously.

Took it apart and replaced the seals, and the bore is so sloppy the shaft just falls through it, even when held on an angle from vertical.

Tried swelling the o-rings and still it's too sloppy.

I did notice that someone before me had apparently used transmission fluid (by the smell and the gooey-ness of the o-rings) to really swell the originals up.

You've gotta love people who hide a problem and pass it on.

To the main point, seems ANS pneus weren't exactly well-made.

I've never liked ANS pneumatics for that reason.

The mini-rams seem to fail at that crimp pretty often... I've fixed some of mine that have failed with JB weld over the years, successfully, but it's ugly.

The original WGP pneumatics from 99/00 era are pretty good... they're not pretty but they generally always work.

Funny you should mention it. I replaced it with a WGP ram, and it works great.

Also mechanically swelled the o-rings with a small wind of teflon tape underneath, and now it's working perfectly.
